5210 PA Every Day

The campaign was launched in partnership with more than 20 local organizations, including schools, preschools, health care providers, youth programs and workplaces. Through pre- and post-surveys, outcomes have proved impressive.

To increase healthy eating and active living, the Partnership for Better Health was among the first to bring the national 5210 health promotion campaign to Pennsylvania. 5210 PA Every Day highlights these daily messages:

  • Eat 5 or more fruits and vegetables;
  • Have no more than 2 hours of screen time;
  • Get 1 or more hours of physical activity; and
  • Consume 0 sweetened beverages.

The foundation launched the campaign in partnership with more than 20 local organizations, including schools, preschools, health care providers, youth programs and workplaces. Through pre- and post-surveys conducted in 2012 and 2013 with parents of students at Big Spring, Carlisle and West Perry school districts, outcomes proved impressive. A report by The Food Trust identified statistically significant increases in students’ daily fruit and vegetable consumption and minutes of physical activity, with modest decreases in the percentage of students consuming sugar-sweetened beverages.
